On Monday, we had our first semester session of the doctorate club (the so called «kolloquium»). We had to introduce ourselves, as well as to make a short introduction about our PhD theme and to say where we come from. And then a guy introduced himself as a member of the oppressed kurdish minority of Turkey. It was the time that I realised, though I was aware of the issue, how little I really knew about it.
